Table grape industry communications program (TG22001)
What was it all about?
From 2023 to 2025, this project strengthened how the table grape industry accessed timely, trusted information. The project delivered consistent, clear updates on R&D, market access, biosecurity, production issues and regulatory requirements, helping growers stay informed and make confident decisions. Engagement increased across all major communication channels, demonstrating the program’s value to industry.
The project delivered a coordinated mix of communication outputs, including 12 editions of Vine magazine, the fortnightly Pick of the Bunch newsletter, regular social media content, direct email updates, media engagement and more than 180 website posts.
A major focus was improving digital accessibility, with the australiangrapes.com.au website enhanced to include new vine health resources, an updated varieties section and improved exporter tools. The program also broadened the use of video, producing 14 practical resources on topics such as fruit fly management, sprayer optimisation and export requirements.
The program addressed the need for fast, reliable communication amid increasing production costs, changing market conditions, export compliance pressures, and heightened expectations around sustainability and provenance. It supported growers with information in multiple formats, recognising different levels of digital literacy, language needs and time constraints across the industry.
