Closing date: 27 May

Request for Proposal

Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: Vegetable and Onions Industry Export Strategy (MT25020).

The objectives of the services being sought are:

  • Identifies priority and frontier and emerging markets where Australia can realistically compete and grow or defend share and translates this into clear export priorities for the vegetables and onions industries
  • Clarifies the drivers of preference for Australian vegetables and onions in-market, including why Australian product is chosen in markets where success already exists and what can be replicated, strengthened or scaled
  • Incorporates adjacent-category case study learnings on how demand is built in prioritised markets, and assesses what is feasible and appropriate to adapt for vegetables/onions at an industry level
  • Provides growers with clearer, evidence-based guidance on where export effort is most likely to pay off, including market, product and pathway choices grounded in economics, competitiveness and access conditions
  • Identifies where industry-wide action through trade and or R&D can improve export performance
  • Supports continuity and the future direction of the Vegetable Multi-Industry Export Program which concludes in early 2027, ensuring the next phase of export investment is recalibrated to incorporate export strategy findings and recommendations
